Next Time (Playing Around)

about

This is a quick track that I have written and arranged to send off for auditions for Universities and music colleges. It's not amazing it was quite rushed, but I didn't want to use any of the older songs. If you like a bit of funk and a bit of jazz, hopeufully you'll like this track! Enjoy!

lyrics

I'm little bit tired of playing games
And I say I'll never do it again
But my ignorance is keeping me in play
I'm always losing and I'm risking all I've got
Soon I'm left nothing but the cards that broke me down

I know what I've done wrong
And I can't make excuses
Because I've always had the time
And I've got more days to come
To see that I'm just playing around

And I'm a little bit worse for wear
With my hands at the edge of the table
I see sheet by sheet it's coming down
But I won't sign
This pen's a heavy burden
And I can't control the flow of the ink inside
So I'll go upstairs and sulk instead

I know what I've done wrong
And I can't make excuses
Because I've always had the time
And I've got more days to come
To see that I'll just stay in bed
Because I'm scared of the world outside
And I've got more days to come
And I'll just keep on playing around
